沙苑子（潼蒺藜）为豆科扁茎黄芪种子，含黄酮苷（沙苑子苷、紫云英苷）及甾醇，现代研究显示其有降压、降血脂、保肝及免疫调节作用，对应传统补肾固精、养肝明目之功。
