饴糖主含麦芽糖、葡萄糖、糊精等可快速吸收的糖类,具有补充能量、缓解腹痛与保护胃黏膜作用,甘温质润最善建中缓急。
Maltose syrup contains maltose, glucose and dextrins — rapidly absorbed sugars providing energy, alleviating abdominal cramping and coating the gastric mucosa; sweet, warm and moistening, it is foremost in constructing the middle.
Bensky 将饴糖列为补气甘温建中的代表药,强调其为小建中汤、大建中汤的君药。
Bensky lists Yi Tang as the representative sweet-warm middle-constructing tonic, emphasizing its role as sovereign in Xiao Jian Zhong Tang and Da Jian Zhong Tang.
Chen & Chen 指出饴糖甘温质润,与单纯蔗糖不同,所含麦芽糖及糊精吸收较缓,不易骤然升高血糖,但糖尿病患者仍应禁用。

湿热内蕴、中满气滞、呕吐、湿盛脘腹胀满及糖尿病(消渴)者不宜;牙疳、小儿疳积患者慎用。
