Treats abdominal pain and diarrhea from Liver excess overwhelming a weak Spleen. Bai Zhu fortifies the Spleen and dries dampness as sovereign, Bai Shao softens the Liver and relaxes tension as minister, Chen Pi regulates qi and arouses the Spleen as assistant, and Fang Feng courses the Liver and raises the clear to stop diarrhea as envoy. Together, they supplement Spleen-earth and drain Liver-wood, harmonizing both organs.
