The dried root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus (Rutaceae). Cold and bitter, entering the Spleen, Stomach, and Bladder channels. Excels at clearing heat, drying dampness, dispelling wind, and stopping itch. A principal herb for damp-heat skin conditions with itching; also treats jaundice and damp-heat impediment.
