Fermented leaven preparation of Ban Xia (Pinellia ternata rhizome) combined with flour and other aromatic herbs. Derived from the same Spleen and Stomach channel entry as parent Ban Xia but with added food-dispersing and stomach-harmonizing functions, used for phlegm-damp cough accompanied by food stagnation and indigestion.

Ban Xia Qu is fermented processed Pinellia which retains antiemetic and phlegm-transforming activity while markedly reducing irritancy and toxicity; it additionally has food-digesting effects.
半夏曲辛平,化痰止咳,消食除胀,较生半夏毒性降低。
Acrid-neutral; transforms phlegm, stops cough, and resolves food stagnation; markedly less toxic than raw Pinellia.
