The dried pericarp of Areca catechu (Arecaceae). Enters the Spleen, Stomach, Large Intestine, and Small Intestine channels. Pungent and dispersing, it moves qi and excels at relaxing the center and disinhibiting water, commonly used for edema and leg qi.
