淡豆豉为大豆经桑叶、青蒿煎汁发酵加工品,主含大豆异黄酮、皂苷及发酵生成的游离氨基酸与B族维生素,药理示其解热、轻度发汗与助消化作用。
Dan Dou Chi is soybean fermented with mulberry leaf and Artemisia decoction; it contains soy isoflavones, saponins and fermentation amino acids / B-vitamins; pharmacology shows antipyretic, mild diaphoretic and digestive effects.

胃虚易呕者慎用。单品力薄,多与金银花、连翘、栀子等配伍。孕妇慎用大剂量。
本品以大豆 Glycine max 发酵加工而成,入药须用依《中国药典》之发酵工艺制成的淡豆豉,不可用日常食用的咸豆豉或纳豆代替。辛凉或辛温品须依处方需要选用。
发汗后,水药不得入口为逆;若更发汗,必吐下不止。发汗吐下后,虚烦不得眠;若剧者,必反复颠倒,心中懊憹,栀子豉汤主之。
