The dried root and rhizome of Nardostachys jatamansi (Valerianaceae/Caprifoliaceae). Enters the Spleen and Stomach channels. Pungent, sweet, and warm, it aromatically regulates qi, opens constraint, and arouses the Spleen for epigastric distending pain.
