The dried rhizome and root of Ligusticum sinense or L. jeholense (Apiaceae). Warm and pungent, entering the Bladder channel. A key herb for wind-cold headache, especially vertex pain along the Taiyang channel. Often combined with Qiang Huo for exterior wind-cold with headache and body aches.
