Mature seed of Gua Lou (Trichosanthes kirilowii, Cucurbitaceae) — the seed portion of the parent herb Gua Lou (whose fruit, peel, and root are each used separately). Enters the Lung, Stomach, and Large Intestine channels. Sweet and cold with a slippery, oily quality; moistens the intestines to free the stool and clears and transforms heat-phlegm, emphasizing the lubricating action over the parent's broader chest-opening effect.
Reference range for non-pregnant adults. Not a personalized prescription. Pregnancy, lactation, and pediatric use require specialist supervision.
Protective guidance only — when to avoid or use with caution. This block deliberately omits pregnancy, lactation, and pediatric dosing: any such use must be managed by a qualified TCM practitioner or appropriate specialist.
