Dried receptacle of the lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera, Nelumbonaceae) — the seed-bearing structure of the same plant yielding Lian Zi and He Ye. Enters the Liver channel. Bitter, astringent, and warm; transforms stasis and stanches bleeding, used for postpartum stasis-type lochia retention, flooding and spotting, and blood stasis with hemorrhage.
