The dried leaf of Apocynum venetum (Apocynaceae). Enters the Liver channel. Sweet, bitter, and cool, it pacifies the Liver, clears heat, lowers blood pressure, and calms the spirit. Commonly used for Liver-yang hyperactivity-type hypertension; also used as a health tea.

煎服6–15g，或泡茶饮。

Dogbane leaf contains flavonoid glycosides (hyperoside, isoquercitrin) with antihypertensive, sedative, and diuretic activities.
《中国药典》以金丝桃苷为含量测定指标。
Chinese Pharmacopoeia uses hyperoside as assay marker.
