The dried aerial part of Eclipta prostrata (Asteraceae). Enters the Liver and Kidney channels. Sweet, sour, and cold, it nourishes and supplements Liver-Kidney yin, cools the blood, and stops bleeding. Often paired with nu zhen zi in the classic Er Zhi Wan formula.
