The dried resin of Commiphora myrrha or C. molmol (Burseraceae). Enters the Heart, Liver, and Spleen channels. Bitter, pungent, and neutral, its function resembles that of ru xiang but with stronger stasis-breaking capacity. The two are commonly paired as 'frankincense and myrrh' (ru mo) for synergistic blood-invigorating, stasis-dispersing, and pain-relieving action in traumatic injury and stasis-related swelling and pain.

煎服常用3–10g,多入丸散;外用适量,研末调敷。常与乳香相须为用。
