The dried root of Peucedanum praeruptorum or P. decursivum (Apiaceae). Enters the Lung channel. Bitter, acrid, and slightly cold, Qian Hu downbears lung qi and transforms phlegm, and at the same time scatters wind and clears heat — a dual action that suits it particularly well for cough with profuse yellow phlegm and chest oppression from wind-heat invasion or phlegm-heat obstructing the lung. Commonly paired with Xing Ren and Sang Ye.
Reference range for non-pregnant adults. Not a personalized prescription. Pregnancy, lactation, and pediatric use require specialist supervision.
Protective guidance only — when to avoid or use with caution. This block deliberately omits pregnancy, lactation, and pediatric dosing: any such use must be managed by a qualified TCM practitioner or appropriate specialist.
