The dried ripe seed kernel of Euryale ferox (Nymphaeaceae). Enters the Spleen and Kidney channels. Sweet, astringent, and neutral, it benefits the Kidney, secures essence, tonifies the Spleen, stops diarrhea, and eliminates dampness to stop leukorrhea. Stronger astringent action than lian zi.
