The dried branch bark or trunk bark of Fraxinus rhynchophylla, F. chinensis, F. szaboana, or F. stylosa (Oleaceae). Cold, bitter and astringent, entering the Liver, Gallbladder, and Large Intestine channels. Clears heat, dries dampness, and stops dysentery; also clears the Liver and brightens the eyes for eye disorders.
