Dang Gui Shen — the main root body of Dang Gui (Angelica sinensis, Apiaceae), as distinct from the head (Dang Gui Tou) and tail (Dang Gui Wei). Enters the same Heart, Liver, and Spleen channels as whole Dang Gui but with markedly stronger blood-supplementing action and weaker blood-invigorating effect, suited to blood-vacuity patterns without significant stasis.
