Amomum fruit is dominated by a volatile oil rich in bornyl acetate, camphor, and limonene, with preclinical evidence for prokinetic, antiulcer, anti-inflammatory, and choleretic effects that align with its traditional dampness-transforming, middle-warming, and fetus-calming use.
