The dried tuberous root of Asparagus cochinchinensis (Liliaceae). Enters the Lung and Kidney channels. Sweet, bitter, and very cold, it nourishes yin, moistens dryness, clears the Lung, and generates fluids. Often paired with mai dong for synergistic yin-nourishing effect.
