The dried root of Trichosanthes kirilowii or T. rosthornii (Cucurbitaceae). Cold, sweet and slightly bitter, entering the Lung and Stomach channels. Excels at clearing heat and generating fluids to relieve thirst; a key herb for wasting-thirst syndrome. Also reduces swelling and expels pus for sores and abscesses. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
Reference range for non-pregnant adults. Not a personalized prescription. Pregnancy, lactation, and pediatric use require specialist supervision.
