The dried aerial part of Agrimonia pilosa (Rosaceae). Enters the Heart and Liver channels. Bitter, astringent, and neutral, it is a broad-spectrum hemostatic herb that additionally tonifies vacuity, interrupts malaria, and stops dysentery. Known colloquially as 'fatigue-relieving herb' (tuo li cao), it is effective in large doses for exhaustion and fatigue conditions and for thrombocytopenia.

外感初起、邪实积滞者慎用。收涩之性，不宜用于实证出血兼有瘀滞者（需配伍化瘀药）。
药性平和，毒性小，可较大剂量长期服用。高剂量（30–60g）治血小板减少性紫癜、再生障碍性贫血、脱力劳伤有效。单味煎汤亦可作补益。
《滇南本草》载：治妇人月潮，赤白带下，面寒腹痛，日久赤白血痢。《伪药条辨》言其止血、强心、补虚。
