The dried rhizome of Curculigo orchioides (Amaryllidaceae). Enters the Kidney, Liver, and Spleen channels. Pungent, hot, and slightly toxic, it tonifies Kidney yang, strengthens sinews and bones, and dispels cold-dampness. Often paired with yin yang huo in the classic Er Xian Tang.
