The dried flower bud of Magnolia biondii, M. denudata, or M. sprengeri (Magnoliaceae). Warm and pungent, entering the Lung and Stomach channels. Its aromatic nature ascends to open nasal passages, making it the premier herb for nasal obstruction and sinusitis. Should be wrapped in cloth when decocted to prevent irritation from fine hairs.
