The dried root of Dipsacus asper (Caprifoliaceae). Enters the Liver and Kidney channels. Bitter, pungent, and slightly warm, it supplements the Liver and Kidney, strengthens sinews and bones, knits fractures, and stops uterine flooding. Its name literally means 'mend the broken.'
