The dried root of Stellaria dichotoma var. lanceolata (Caryophyllaceae). Cool and sweet, entering the Liver and Stomach channels. Specifically clears deficiency heat and abates bone-steaming. Despite sharing 'Chai Hu' in its name, it belongs to an entirely different botanical family and has distinct functions from Bupleurum.
