Poppy Husk

The dried mature capsule of the opium poppy. Sour and astringent in flavor, neutral in nature, toxic. Constrains the Lung and stops cough, astringes the intestines and stops diarrhea, relieves pain. Contains morphine alkaloids and is a controlled substance in most jurisdictions; included here only for classical-formula reference.
