The dried fruit of Gleditsia sinensis (Fabaceae). Enters the Lung and Large Intestine channels. Pungent, salty, warm, and mildly toxic, it powerfully expels stubborn phlegm and opens blocked orifices. It is a drastic herb for severe phlegm congestion. Powdered and insufflated into the nose to induce sneezing, it can be used for emergency resuscitation in wind-stroke coma.
