The charred petiole of Trachycarpus fortunei (Arecaceae). Enters the Lung, Liver, and Large Intestine channels. Bitter, astringent, and neutral, it strongly astringes and stops bleeding, particularly for flooding/spotting and hematemesis. Should be combined with blood-invigorating herbs to avoid retaining stasis.
