Treatment Principle

疏肝健脾

Course the Liver and fortify the Spleen

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

distension, fullness, and wandering pain in the chest and hypochondrium
frequent sighing
poor appetite and reduced food intake
abdominal distension with loose stools

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

emotional depression or irritability
borborygmus and flatulence
abdominal pain with urgency to defecate, pain relieved after bowel movement

Etiology · 病因

Emotional frustration; Liver failing to course and discharge, invading the Spleen horizontally.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Liver qi invades the Spleen; the Spleen loses healthy transportation.
