Gān Xuè Xū Zhèng

Liver Blood Vacuity Pattern

Treatment Principle

补血养肝

Tonify blood and nourish the Liver

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

dizziness and vertigo
blurred vision or night blindness
numbness of the limbs and sinew-vessel contracture
pale lusterless nails
scanty pale menstruation in women, or amenorrhea in severe cases

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

sallow lusterless complexion
tinnitus

Etiology · 病因

Spleen-Stomach vacuity with insufficient source, excessive blood loss, prolonged illness consuming Liver blood, or Kidney essence vacuity failing to generate blood.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Insufficient Liver blood fails to nourish the sinews and eyes, and the Chong and Ren vessels are insufficient.
