Gān Yīn Xū Zhèng

Liver Yin Vacuity Pattern

Treatment Principle

滋养肝阴，兼清虚热

Enrich Liver yin and clear vacuity heat

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

dizziness and vertigo
dry eyes with blurred vision
dull persistent pain in the hypochondrium
heat in the five centers, tidal fever and night sweating
dry mouth and throat

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

flushing of the face or malar flush
wriggling movement of the hands and feet
impatience and easy anger

Etiology · 病因

Emotional frustration with qi depression transforming into fire and silently consuming yin-blood; or late stages of warm-heat disease damaging Liver yin; or Kidney yin vacuity with water failing to moisten wood.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Liver yin is vacuous and depleted; yin fails to restrain yang, vacuity heat arises internally, and the Liver network lacks moistening.
