Heart Blood Stasis Obstruction Pattern

Treatment Principle

活血化瘀，通脉止痛

Invigorate blood and dispel stasis; free the vessels and stop pain

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

stabbing pain in the chest with fixed location
palpitations and fearful throbbing
chest oppression and shortness of breath

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

dark dusky complexion
cyanotic lips and nails
pain radiating to the shoulder and back

Etiology · 病因

Qi vacuity failing to move blood, or cold congelation, phlegm obstruction, or qi stagnation leading to stasis in the Heart vessels.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Blood stasis obstructs the Heart vessels, Heart yang is constrained, and blood circulation is impeded.
