Xīn Yáng Xū Zhèng

Heart Yang Vacuity Pattern

Treatment Principle

温补心阳，振奋心神

Warm and tonify Heart yang; invigorate the spirit

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

palpitations and fearful throbbing
chest oppression and chest pain
aversion to cold and cold limbs
bright pale complexion
shortness of breath and spontaneous sweating

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

mental fatigue and lack of strength
cyanotic lips and nails

Etiology · 病因

Further progression of Heart qi vacuity, or long-term weakness with age-related decline of the zang qi, or internal invasion of cold pathogen damaging Heart yang.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Heart yang is debilitated and fails to warm; blood flow is unsmooth and cold congeals in the Heart vessels.
