Xuè Fēn Zhèng

Xue-level (Blood) Pattern

Treatment Principle

凉血散血，清热解毒

Cool the blood and disperse blood stasis, clear heat and resolve toxin

Cardinal Symptoms · 主症

scorching body heat
manic agitation and delirium
dark purple macules and papules
hematemesis, epistaxis, and bloody stools

Secondary Symptoms · 次症

convulsions of the four limbs
hematuria

Etiology · 病因

Warm pathogenic qi penetrates deeply into the blood level, with exuberant heat toxin scorching the blood vessels.

Pathomechanism · 病机

Excessive heat stirs the blood, forcing it to move recklessly; blood is consumed and yin is damaged, with possible internal collapse into the Pericardium.
