长于清热凉血、化痰止咳、生发乌发，多用于肺热咳嗽、须发早白
寒凉之性减，涩性增，专于收敛止血，多用于血热出血证
内服6–12g；外用适量，煎水洗或捣敷。止血多炒炭用，其他用途多生用。

Platycladi Cacumen contains volatile oils, flavonoids (amentoflavone, quercitrin), and tannins, with hemostatic, antitussive, antimicrobial, and hair-growth-promoting effects.
