Gou Ji contains starches, pterosin-type sesquiterpenes, phytosterols, and tannins with liver-kidney tonifying, lumbar-strengthening, and hemostatic effects.
狗脊苦甘温，祛风湿，补肝肾，强腰膝。
Bitter-sweet and warm; dispels wind-damp, tonifies liver and kidney, and strengthens lumbus and knees.
