木瓜(Chaenomeles)含有机酸、三萜酸及黄酮,具抗炎、解痉、舒筋活络及保肝作用。
Chaenomeles fruit contains organic acids, triterpene acids, and flavonoids with anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, muscle-relaxing, and hepatoprotective effects.
木瓜酸温入肝脾,舒筋活络化湿和胃,为湿痹腰腿痛常用。
Sour and warm, entering liver and spleen — relaxes sinews, activates channels, transforms damp, and harmonizes stomach; common for damp-bi.
齐墩果酸具保肝作用;有机酸缓解肌肉痉挛。
Oleanolic acid is hepatoprotective; organic acids relieve muscle spasm.
《中国药典》以齐墩果酸和熊果酸总量(不少于 0.50%)为质量指标。
Chinese Pharmacopoeia specifies combined oleanolic and ursolic acid (≥0.50%) as the quality marker.

味酸入肝,舒筋活络,为治湿痹筋脉拘挛、脚气转筋之要药。药用宣木瓜(Chaenomeles speciosa)非食用番木瓜(Carica papaya),两者科属、功用迥异。
