土茯苓主含落新妇苷、甾体皂苷和鞣质，具抗炎、利尿、解汞毒和改善梅毒螺旋体所致皮损作用。
Tu Fu Ling contains astilbin, steroidal saponins, and tannins with anti-inflammatory, diuretic, mercury-detoxifying, and anti-treponemal effects historically used in syphilis management.
土茯苓甘淡平，解毒除湿，通利关节，为治梅毒要药。
Sweet-bland and neutral; resolves toxin, drains damp, and frees the joints; traditional principal herb for syphilitic lesions.
