The hasty pulse is rapid yet with occasional pauses—when yang is at its extreme and yin is about to perish.
The pulse comes urgent and rapid with intermittent pauses that follow no fixed interval.
Indicates exuberant yang with excess heat or stagnation of qi, blood, phlegm, and food. It also appears in failing organ qi and the imminent collapse of true yin.
