It moves then halts and cannot return; only after a long pause does it start again—this is called the intermittent pulse.
脉来一止,良久方还,止有定数。脉势较弱,节律规则地间歇。
The pulse halts and only after a noticeable pause returns; the pauses occur at fixed intervals. The pulse-force is rather weak, and the interruptions are regular.
主脏气衰微,尤以心气不足为主。亦见于风证、痛证、七情惊恐及孕妇。
Indicates debility of organ qi, particularly insufficiency of heart qi. It may also appear in wind patterns, painful disorders, emotional fright, and in pregnancy.
