The hidden pulse must be sought by pressing through the sinew to the bone; only then does it stir faintly beneath the finger, concealed in the depths.
The pulse travels below the sinew, obtained only by pressing all the way to the bone; in severe cases it is hidden and cannot be felt at all.
Indicates pathogenic blockage, syncope-reversal patterns, and severe pain. When pathogens lodge deep within and qi and blood congeal, the vessels hide from reach. It may also appear in sudden yang collapse.
