Floating and large, soft as a scallion stalk—the edges firm while the centre is already empty.
Floating and large but hollow in the middle, like pressing a scallion tube. Lightly felt it is present; pressed slightly harder the centre gives way, with only the edges retaining some firmness.
Indicates blood loss and injury to yin. After sudden massive bleeding the vessels run empty, hence the scallion-stalk quality. It is also seen when vomiting or diarrhoea depletes fluids and yin collapses abruptly.
