Thin, slow, and short, the choppy pulse struggles to come and go—scattered and halting, barely felt beneath the fingertips.
Arrival and departure laboured and unsmooth, like a light blade scraping bamboo. The pulse form is thin and small, with uneven rhythm and variable force.
Indicates injury to essence and scanty blood, or qi stagnation with blood stasis. Choppy and forceless reflects depleted essence-blood; choppy and forceful reflects qi stagnation, blood stasis, or entanglement of phlegm and food.
