脉极细极软,按之欲绝,若有若无。
Extremely thin and extremely soft; pressed, it seems about to fade away—felt now, lost the next moment.
主气血大虚,阳气衰微。久病脉微为正气将绝;新病脉微为阳气暴脱。
Indicates severe depletion of qi and blood and exhaustion of yang. In chronic illness, a faint pulse means upright qi is about to be extinguished; in acute illness, it signals sudden collapse of yang.
