贝母瓜蒌散

Bèi Mǔ Guā Lóu Sǎn

Fritillaria and Trichosanthes Powder

Cheng Zhongling's formula from Yi Xue Xin Wu for dryness-phlegm cough. It treats dry cough with difficult expectoration, sticky phlegm that is hard to expel, a dry scratchy throat, and a white dry tongue coating. Moistening and phlegm-transforming bei mu and gua lou serve as the principal herbs, supported by qi-moving, phlegm-transforming, and Spleen-strengthening agents to address both root and branch.
