清气化痰丸

Qīng Qì Huà Tán Wán

Qi-Clearing Phlegm-Transforming Pill

The representative formula for cough from phlegm-heat. Primarily clears heat and transforms phlegm, assisted by qi-rectifying and cough-stopping herbs. Formed into pills with ginger juice to counteract Ban Xia's toxicity and enhance phlegm transformation. Phlegm is set in motion by heat; to treat phlegm, first clear heat — this is the formula's guiding principle.
