The horn of the water buffalo Bubalus bubalis (Bovidae). Cold and bitter, entering the Heart, Liver, and Stomach channels. The standard modern substitute for rhinoceros horn; clears heat, cools the blood, resolves toxicity, and settles fright. Similar in action but less potent, requiring larger doses. Must be decocted first or ground and taken as a slurry.
Reference range for non-pregnant adults. Not a personalized prescription. Pregnancy, lactation, and pediatric use require specialist supervision.
