The dried tuber of Gastrodia elata (Orchidaceae). Enters the Liver channel. Sweet and neutral, it both extinguishes internal wind and dispels external wind, making it a key herb for dizziness, headache, convulsions, and wind-stroke regardless of cold/heat or vacuity/repletion presentation.
