半夏白术天麻汤

Bàn Xià Bái Zhú Tiān Má Tāng

Pinellia, Atractylodes and Gastrodia Decoction

Cheng Zhongling's formula from Yi Xue Xin Wu for wind-phlegm ascending disturbance causing dizziness and headache. Built on Er Chen Tang (ban xia, chen pi, fu ling, gan cao) as a Spleen-strengthening phlegm-transforming base, it adds bai zhu to further dry dampness and strengthen the Spleen, and tian ma to pacify the Liver and extinguish wind—treating both root and branch. Li Dongyuan also has a formula of the same name with slightly different composition.
